CRISTINA ARMESILLA

CRISTINA ARMESILLA | MADRID, SPAIN

Madrid artist Cristina Armesilla enjoys playing with materials in search of the best way to represent her personal experiences through forms.

In the collection “Iridiscencias” each geometric construction represents a place in her city that has been part of her development as an artist.

Making a diagram of Voronoi on a map of Madrid using these places as reference points, she obtained the necessary lines to create the irregular polygons that compose the structural base of the pieces.

The accuracy of the metal structure contrasts with the unpredictable color effects of her jewels to create a symbol of the changing and dreamlike subjective experience.

As a result, Cristina Armesilla’s jewels have a sculptural and geometric character that is reminiscent of architecture. The pieces stand out for their volume, their lightness and their color changing effect.
