Laura Volpi, set designer and sculptor, graduated at the Milan Brera Academy. She met and collaborated with Davide De Paoli, who initiated her to the potentialities of plate sculpture, along with Arnaldo Pomodoro, who brought her to explore sculptural volumes and light vibrations. Ross Lovegrove is a further valuable source of inspiration to her as well. A wide range of proposals, creativity lines and her ability to focus on pure research makes her an important designer of contemporary Italian jewel.

Laura has been experimenting and seeking answers for 25 years. The first influential contacts were with Davide De Paoli, who initiated her to the potentialities of plate sculpture, and with Arnaldo Pomodoro, whom she could meet through a scholarship. During the collaboration with Pomodoro which lasted a few years, she had the opportunity to explore sculptural volumes and light vibrations.

Something began in London with her first loves: Henry Moore and Burri. Moore enthralled her with the study and simplification of volumes, even in monumental dimensions; of Burri she loves his rough and daring materiality. A most recent coup de foudre is Ross Lovegrove and his research about the transmutation of organic matters.
